APD Pitching:
At APD, we believe in player development being the forefront of everything we do. Whether it be pitching, hitting, strength and conditioning or even the mental side of the game, we dedicate ourselves to doing our best to make you better as a player.
With this comes responsibility, You have to be disciplined enough to follow a routine, stick to it, and most of all, believe in it. One of the things that separates successful athletes from everyone else is the ability to replicate their abilities, day in and day out.
This winter we will be using Nov. 1-Feb 15 to find the most ideal routine for each individual player. Starting in November, we will be using video to find the parts of the delivery the need addressed most. Going from there, we will attack those with different exercises, education and repetitions. As we progress into December and January, throwing volume and intensity will increase. This will begin our on-ramping and strengthening phase for the upcoming season. Building explosiveness and learning how to correctly engage the lower half with the ground will be at the forefront of our work.
As we progress into January, we will really dive into proper pitch shape for each athlete. While not applicable for all ages, we will use Rapsodo to evaluate pitch shape and asses whether or not there will be potential success with that pitch.
As we wrap up our winter phase in February, each athlete will have had plenty of mound reps to feel confident going into their upcoming season.
All athletes will receive a DAILY throwing schedule for the entirety of the program. It will be distributed around a week after our first session. This will be critical for the athlete to follow if we want to maximize our overall progress.
